Allowing fans to create their own Super Mario levels was more than just a dream come true—it was a celebration of Nintendo’s 30th anniversary.
To promote the launch of Super Mario Maker, we designed an immersive Super Mario world where fans of all ages could watch levels being crafted in real-time. We even developed a unique VR experience for the campaign, plunging participants into our fantastical Super Mario universe.
The campaign’s videos garnered millions of views on YouTube within the first week. Sales were equally impressive, with fans creating over seven million original levels in just the first few months.
